Winter Walking Weekend 1st - 2nd March 2008

WALKING GROUPS

 

We have two walking groups. The Easy Going Walking walks of up to 3 miles on fully accessible paths in the countryside.The other longer walks in rougher terrain..  We also have a Summer and Winter Walking Weekend.

 

You must be properly equipped with a waterproof jacket and trousers, walking boots (not wellies or trainers) and a good supply of food and drink.  Scarves, hats and gloves are recommended in cold weather.  We may be able to lend you some equipment.

GREEN MAN TRAIL

Seek out Jack-in-the Green on this temporary sculpture exhibition at Bolton Abbey.

Admission: 75p Travel time: 1 hour

EASBY ABBEY

History galore on this 3 mile trail near Richmond.  Admission: FREE Travel time: 1 hour

 

ROUNDHAY PARK

A 2 mile walk around the finest park in Leeds, before warming up at Tropical World. Admission: £3 Travel time: 30 mins

 

RIPLEY RAMBLE

A local walk with Alex Harrison, taking in the Autumn colours

 

LIFE’S A BEACH

 

Old fossils welcome on a beachcombing walk from Marske to Redcar.

 

BRETTON HALL

This walk takes in 3 nature reserves and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.

Walks range from 5 to 10 miles.  Some members have learning disabilities and mental health issues.

CHRISTMAS MEAL

A short local walk before we enjoy a festive lunch at the Harrogate Arms, where we will be joined by the Mayor of Harrogate, Councillor John Fox and Mrs Maggie Fox..

Cost: £15.95

 

KIRKSTALL VALLEY

7 miles culminating at the haunting Kirkstall Abbey.

 

ASHFOLDSIDE

An old favourite near Pateley Bridge, ending with a trip to the Nidderdale Museum. Admission: £2
